Spring is here and it’s time to head to a Monaco beach club

Posted by on May 3, 2019

With summer around the corner, it’s time to dust off your swimming gear and look forward to long, sunny days at your favourite Monaco beach club. Considering its small size, the Principality has an impressive selection of beach clubs to choose from and lucky residents can experience a glitzy Mediterranean lifestyle a stone’s throw from their homes. When the temperatures soar, head to a Monaco beach club and enjoy culinary delights, cocktails and top DJ sets while you mingle with like-minded people.

Le Tigre Monte-Carlo

Le Tigre Monte-Carlo is the Principality’s newest beachside offering and, on 19 March, was the first to open.  It is located in the grounds of the Monte-Carlo Beach Hotel between lush pine forests and the Mediterranean Sea. Le Tigre is designed to provide luxury travellers and Monegasque residents in need of pampering, a holistic experience that reconnects them with nature. The 80 square metre spa is a haven of tranquility with three treatment and massage cabanas. The signature treatment is the powerful and revitalising Tigre Massage which balances body and mind.

To further embrace your Zen, yoga, meditation and Pilates are available at a choice of three locations: by the water’s edge, next to the fragrant pine forest, or in a covered area, ideal for self-conscious individuals or those who prefer more shade.  The hotel’s Green Globe Gold Standard restaurant Elsa was the first Michelin-starred restaurant to be certified as 100% organic by Ecocert. Don’t forget to try Le Tigre house recipes at the organic juice bar. Plenty of water sports (jet skis, wakeboards, doughnuts and parasailing) are available for those who prefer things a little more action-packed.

La Rose des Vents Restaurant, Monte Carlo

This restaurant has pride of place on Larvotto Beach and is the ideal place to enjoy a super-fresh seafood lunch. You can eat in the restaurant or outside on the beach under the La Rose des Vents’ distinctive red parasols. The restaurant is open until 22:30 every night so you can also eat under the stars. The menu is varied and includes moules frites (mussels and French fries), steak tartare, risotto and pizza. Parasols and sun loungers can be booked for the whole day and are more expensive the closer you are to the sea. Larvotto is largely a residential area so if you want easy access to the beach all year, be sure to visit a property agency in Monaco.

Nikki Beach, Fairmont Hotel

The fashionable crowds head to Nikki Beach, which is an all-day poolside party recreating the ultimate Monaco beach club experience…on the roof of the Fairmont Hotel. From 4 April to 20 September, the famous Nikki Beach franchise sets up on the upscale hotel’s seventh-floor roof, which conveniently has some of the best bird’s eye views of the Grand Prix track. It also has breathtaking views of the Principality and the sea. It’s a glamorous but relaxed setting, as a discerning crowd of celebrities, influencers and yachties soak up the sun by day and party under the stars after the sun sets. Every day of the week has a different theme and sun loungers and restaurant tables can be reserved in advance.

La Note Bleue Beach Club

The beach and garden setting of La Note Bleue Beach Club makes for an indulgent day (and night) out. The location in Larvotto Beach makes it ideal for a stroll along Avenue Princesse Grace. Sophistication is the key theme here as you luxuriate on loungers by day and then dine to the sound of jazz in the evening.

However, La Note Bleue is also child-friendly with a dedicated play area. Depending on how hungry you are, you can order beachside snacks or have a full meal in the restaurant’s modern interior or on the shaded terrace. This year, the terrace has a machine called ‘The Mist’ for creating a cool, fresh curtain of mist to counteract the heat of the Rivera sun. La Note Bleue is open from mid-April to the middle of October, and it remains one of the most refined Monaco beach clubs.
