Sheep Mountain Mill

This old mill towering the Crystal River in Crystal, Colorado is very mysterious and inviting. Seasons come and go, and create a varied backdrop to this old, steady mill. Built in 1892, this historic powerhouse has seen better days during the boom of mining in the area. The mill was used to power drills used in the mines, and was never used to generate electricity. In fact, Crystal doesn’t have electricity until the present. The mill may be visited only during summer and fall seasons.
