Are you planning a family holiday? If so, one of the best destinations you can choose is the UK. Here are the top rated spots that you should go with your family in this wonderful country:
Northumberland has been a favorite destination for families for the past few years, and it seems that it will not change any time soon. The county has something for everyone and is building a good reputation for its beautiful and clean beaches. It is home to the imposing Bamburgh castle, which is dramatically positioned next to the sea and offers the opportunity for you to travel back to the olden days of kings, queens and knights. Alternatively, you can drive over the causeway to Holy Island and take a boat from Seahouses to the Farne Islands. This is also where you will find the Alnwick Castle, where scenes of the Harry Potter films were shot.
Easily reachable via ferry, the Isle of Wight is a great destination for beach lovers, as it has vast stretches of sandy coast and rocky beaches that are ideal for paddling. The entire island offers walking and cycling opportunities, together with a surprisingly good section of nice restaurants, pubs and an array of attractions, including the Roman Villa, Blackgang Chine, Carisbrook Castle and the Osborne House.
North Norfolk has been a holidaymaker’s favorite, with its traditional seaside resorts and gasp-worthy beaches offering a plethora of quayside seafood and chip opportunities. Aside from this, it also offers plenty of English Heritage, National Trust properties and adventure parks to boot.
Yorkshire is a brilliant choice of family destination, as it has got Dales and Moors, national parks, peaks and a breathtaking coastline. Particularly, Scarborough is great for youngsters as a sea-life centre with penny arcades, plenty of parks and a family-friendly beach. Its most recent attraction is the Alphamare Water Park that offers plenty of slides, a heated outdoor pool, a water playground and a spa area.
