Tirana is a mixture of West Europe and old cities of Russia with a little bit of Middle East. Despite its history, it emerged to be a jewel in this part of the world. The city capital of Albania becomes vibrant and totally cosmopolitan which is worth your time. It is a center of politics, business and culture. This is also a place where you can find government institutions. Discovered in eighteen century, the small town began to develop and it suffered from overbuilding. However by the end of century structures were demolished and roads have been constructed. Today Tirana is a city that is filled with modern skyscrapers that can enthusiast any traveler. A historical interest in the city is the beautiful Skenderbeu Square where you can find the Mosque of Ethem Beu. This place sits in the heart of Tirana. There are a lot of bars and restaurants found in the area.

Just like other places that are touched by communism, there is something wonderfully odd about the cities in Albania, particularly Tirana. It was isolated from the rest of the world for years. Now the country has opened its door to the world making it a fascinating destination in the region. Of course several years of isolation is still seen in some parts of the city. There are some parks and open spaces that serves as an attraction like Martyr’s Cemetery and the Great Park of Tirana.

If you want to eat out, there are a lot of good restaurants that are surprisingly affordable. There are also other nice attractions within the outskirts of the city that you might want to check out. The country stretches far beyond and it makes sense to discover the virgin land and explore what is beyond it. You will also find some luxury hotels in Tirana.
