The Americans may celebrate Halloween every year, where children and adults dress up in scary Halloween costumes, but the Old continent is famous for the haunted places. Besides Europe is measuring a story of more centuries, during which there have been massacres, wars, natural disasters that flared up narrations for supernatural powers. Some of the scariest sites, attract tourists, who find it fun to get into mazes and see skeletons. Here are the most famous and scary places in Europe.

The Catacombs of Paris are most famous, but the ones in Sicily but these have a creepy feature. There was a time when it was fashionable, to mummify the rich of the island and place them there, with their festive outfits.

There lie the bones of 40,000 people that died from the plague centuries ago. The location is an hour away from Prague and attracts many tourists, who will see that skeletons and bones can eventually become artworks. In 1870, a local carpenter decided to arrange them and the result is impressive.

Ossuary in Halstatt

On a mountain forest on a site overlooking a lake, the ossuary has hundreds of skulls, which indicate the holder’s name with gothic letters. The reason why they  held only skulls is because they didn’t have enough space in storage.
