The climate in Florence | The best time to visit
Posted by Editor on May 8, 2013
The climate is temperate in the continental Florence. So the summers are very hot with almost no rainfall, reaching 35° C and sometimes nearly 40° C. The winters are very cold with wet temperatures of 0 to 6° C in January but it rarely snows.
Spring in Tuscany is characterized by the golden light that pervades everything and the days are very nice although there may be some rain. Autumn has mild temperatures but is usually quite rainy, especially in November.
The best time to visit is in spring and autumn when the days are very long and the weather is great. Just make sure you bring an umbrella. If you can avoid the months of July and August as the city is full of tourists and the heat coupled with high humidity can make it very unpleasant waiting at a heavy queue for a museum.
