Known for its idyllic beaches and islands, Thailand has always been one great travel destination among travelers. This country consists of hundreds of islands; unfortunately, to visit them all is a bit difficult, especially during the limited time devoted to holidays. As a source of inspiration, check five of the most beautiful of them!

Koh Tao Island

It’s the tourists’ favourite. An island of 20 square kilometers, it will mesmerize you with its crystal clear water that offers excellent chances for snorkeling and peace to some of its beaches. Koh Tao means Turtle Island in Thai and that is because before it became a tourist destination, many of turtles laid their eggs on the beaches that was once deserted.

Similan Archipelago

Similan is famous for its white coral sand beaches, warm tropical nights and gentle breezes from the Andaman Sea. It consists of a total of nine uninhabited islands that offer tourists some of the best scenery in Thailand. The Similan Islands are very easy to reach, since they are located only 50 kilometers from Khao Lak.

Koh Phi Phi Leh and Phi Phi Don

The two Phi Phi islands have earned a reputation among travelers for their dream beaches in a unique setting, surrounded by limestone cliffs that rise majestically into the sea. Phi Phi Leh was chosen as the location of a scene from the famous movie with Leonardo Di Caprio, The Beach. It’s too bad that many have tried to fulfil their wish and get there, resulting in their being crowded with people and jet skis.

Koh Samui

Until a few years ago, it was only visited by a few tourists who wanted to camp there for a while. Today, Koh Samui has become cosmopolitan with a rich nightlife entertainment, clubs and bars. This rapid development has resulted in the cheap bungalows being increasingly hard to find, and now have been replaced by luxury resorts. But the beauty of this tropical paradise is priceless.

Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan is located in the Gulf of Siam, in a short distance from Koh Samui. About 75% of the island is occupied by mountains covered by lush tropical jungle. Koh Phangan is best known for its fullmoon party, an amazing beach party that attracts a lot of  tourists, both young and old. It is also less exploited than Koh Samui and the beaches of the island in low season are almost deserted.
