Tanzania is a country rich in natural resources

Tanzania is considered to be the largest county in East Africa. Its government has focused on the preservation of wildlife and tourism. It can be said that the country is rich in natural resources and minerals.

The country has a long history and it became independent in 1961. Today the country stands to be in peace and stable although it has also witnessed some civil conflicts. The economy of the country reflects the stability of their politics. During the 90’s its economy progressed due to the implementation of various programs that focused on macro economics and reform programs. Aside from this, it has also received programs coming from different countries. In terms of natural resources, Tanzania is the third largest producer of gold. One of its provinces is the Lake Victoria Goldfield which is considered to be world class. Its great natural resources are due to its geography and diversity of culture.

Although the county is rich in natural resources, it is considered to be the poorest in the world. According to statistics, 36% of its population is living below the poverty line. There is also the prevalence of aids. The growth of population is over 2%. There is also a growing number of orphans and children who are vulnerable. That presents a lot of obstacles to the alleviation of poverty. Poverty is worsened by degradation of environment, deforestation and destruction of water resources.

It is said that 28% of the land is protected by the government. The number is said to be the largest in the world. There are about 15 national parks and more than 30 natural reserves.

There are also several controlled areas, marine parks and conservation areas. The country is also the home of the tallest mountain in the region which is Kilimanjaro.

This is also where you can find mountain Serengeti which is the home of great animal migration. This site is considered a wonder of the world by a lot of experts.

This is also where you can find the Ngorongoro Crater which is referred to as Eden of Africa. This is also said to be the 8th wonder of the world.

Tanzania is also a place where you can find the Oduvai Gorge which is the cradle of mankind.

The Selous is the largest reserve in the world. Ruaha is also considered one of the largest parks in the country. The spice island of Zanzibar is also under its jurisdiction.

Overall there are about seven heritage sites of the world in this place. Perhaps the best natural resource of the country is its people because of rich history and diverse blend of cultures. They are very warm and friendly. Tanzania recently celebrated its 50 years on independence.
