The Peace Memorial Museum was actually restored in the year 1994 in order to facilitate education as well as renovating some parts of it. Today, it is divided into two sections: the East Wing and the West Wing. The West wing was the part of the old museum and it focuses on the damage of the bomb. On the other hand the East Wing is the newest addition and it gives details to the history of the city of Hiroshima before the tragedy happened. You will see the way of people before the Hiroshima bombing. This includes the life of the people who lived in Hiroshima during the World War II. It shows their lifestyle and tradition. This is also where you can see the development and decision to drop the bomb. The whole east gallery ends with data regarding the nuclear age along with the effort for peace internationally. You can see the efforts done by governments to preserve peace.
