The plays showcase wooden puppets dance and slide eloquently over the water stage skillfully manipulated by puppeteers.
Imperial Citadel of Thang Long
It’s an intriguing relic of the country’s history. In fact, the Imperial Citadel is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its cultural importance to Vietnam. You will recognize this historical structure by its central flag tower, which is also used a symbol of Hanoi. This is because it was the center of the ancient city and has been a political landmark for around eight centuries.
The Perfume Pagoda
This dramatic temple complex is believed to have been constructed in the 15th century. It is composed of a series of Buddhist temples on top of a mountain range. What makes it unique is that it has alleyways that form a maze carved into the rock with lush forests and flowing streams. The trip going here is an adventure on its own because you’ll need to travel by car or bus for two hours, and then by boat to the foot of the mountain.
Hoan Kiem Lake (Turtle Lake)
If you want something more subtle, then this tourist spot is the perfect place to go to. Hoan Kiem Lake is a central feature of the capital. It has become a favorite hangout spot for locals and tourists alike because of its breathtaking view.
