It’s mid-August already and there are plenty of destinations that are usually not taken into account to rediscover. Turkey is definitely one of the countries most underrated, but one that hides unique beauty. While everyone may think of Istanbul at first, there is also another place that shows us a unique side of Turkey and that is Cappadocia.

Cappadocia

Cappadocia

Cappadocia is located in the central area of Turkey and is known worldwide for its unique geological structure with its many tall cones of rock guarding the valley, which in 1985 was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You may decide to cross the region by car and visit the various small towns scattered here and there and maybe even sleep in the various hotels located in one of these rocky cones.

An unforgettable and winning idea however, is to fly over the valley of Cappadocia in a hot air balloon. The hot air balloon ride will give you a very unique point of view suitable for lovers of breathtaking views, and also for those who want to take some pictures.

It may not look like it but booking your trip in a hot air balloon in Cappadocia is anything but complicated. You can book a fully organized holiday by resorting to local agencies or choose the online alternative and do so using the internet. The other option you have is head in an agency directly when you are on the spot.

What you should definitely try is the hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Fairy Chimneys. Though these are rides to catch throughout the year, the ideal time is between spring and summer. The costs of the hot air balloon ride is around 150 – 200 €/ 200- 270 $ per person but may vary from agency to agency, and even from what you require.

The ride usually starts very early in the morning and you’re at 600 meters high for about an hour. The reason why you have to get up this early is because only then can you appreciate the beauty of the landscape, with the sun rising behind the Fairy Chimneys that gives you the chance to witness something very beautiful.

The view from the top will be worth the expense and you will also enjoy your time up there, looking back to find a long line of colorful hot air balloons that make the sky of Cappadocia look like it’s filled with bright fireworks.
