The Easter break is almost upon us and you’re probably thinking about where to go for a few days to make the most of it. If you live in Europe, there are plenty of places you can go to without going too far or spending loads of money. The beauty of budget airlines means you can get away without spending a small fortune and really make the most of your time off.
If you’re looking for a bit of early springtime sun, then Spain is an ever-popular choice and flights within Europe remain reasonable, with last minute bargains to be had if you keep your eyes peeled. Average temperatures in late March hover around 19-21°C in Spain, so it’s the ideal destination for anyone looking for a warm and pleasant climate.

Perhaps you’re more interested in somewhere with plenty of history, sightseeing and culture, in which case a city break to Rome or Venice is the ideal choice. Both of these Italian destinations are popular with travellers in Europe and have plenty to offer. Venice boasts picture-perfect moments at every turn and is a city of romance, culture and fabulous sights. A few days in this city is enough to get a good taste of what it’s like without being completely exhausted after a full week of sightseeing. The same can be said of Rome, which is steeped in culture and history and has beautiful buildings and structures to see at every corner. Make sure you have a fully charged camera when you visit either of these destinations.

For a city break with a lively nightlife and socialising to be had at bargain prices, try the increasingly popular Krakow or long-time traveller’s favourite, Prague. Both have plenty to see in terms of culture and history during the day, but also boast vibrant and bustling nightlives and drinks at very reasonable prices.

Wherever you go, make sure you soak up some local traditions on your city break, whether you visit a tarot cards reader or try some local delicacies. You don’t need online clairvoyant readings to tell you that the more you throw yourself into each travel experience, the more you will get out of it!
