Between the tulip fields in the Netherlands

The next bridge of 25 April to 1 May is an excellent opportunity to discover the nature and endless fields of colourful Dutch tulips and other flowers throughout the region around Amsterdam. April is the best time to explore the region between Amsterdam, Haarlem and Leiden where the floriculture symbol of the country, the tulips are. For miles the country is covered with expanses colored from yellow, pink, blue, red and black tulips creating a panorama out of a fairytale much sought after.

In the town of Lisse is Keukenhof, a park dedicated to floriculture with 6 million tulips, hyacinths and bulb flowers, the largest collection of these types of natural flowers. It is located right in the heart of the region of tulips between Leiden and Haarlem which are easily accessible by bicycle.

The bike is obviously the best way to learn about the Dutch nature in bloom. In addition it is possible to rent bicycles in the city and organize a tour of one or more days in the countryside. The cycle paths are safe, well indicated, and show the distances between the various countries so you can customize your route. The triangle between Amsterdam, Haarlem and Leiden is the best area and then if you get tired of pedaling so can always go back with the bike on the train.
