Another travel year has come. Which destinations should you visit for the year? To help you out, here are some of the best places to go to based on major events hosted, anniversary celebrations and so on.
This small city will be the host of more than 1,000 cultural and artistic events in 2015 thanks to being designated as a European Capital of Culture. Some highlights that will be featured include a Van Gogh exhibit, three multidisciplinary arts festivals, public installations and art-infused parties.
In addition, five new museums will be unveiled in April including The Artotheque and the Mons Memorial Museum.
Downtown Los Angeles
In the fall, the Broad Museum – the $140 million vanity project of billionaire art collector Eli Broad – will be opened. This gallery is hailed as the gem that will revive downtown LA. The Broad Museum will house works by prominent artists such as Jeff Koons, Cindy Sherman and Roy Lichtenstein.
While you’re in Los Angeles, you might want to check an LA Galaxy game as Premier League star and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is set to make a move after the season is over in England.
Singapore will celebrate 50 years of independence in 2015 and that will surely be marked with fireworks, parades and shows. A new walkway from the Civic District to Marina Bay will also be unveiled during the festivities.
Other than the celebration for independence, the National Gallery is also set to open in November.
Between May to October, Milan will play host to Expo Milano 2015. This is an event that will surely be participated by people from all over the world. During the event, you can taste exotic food, take part in educational lectures and go on a rich, multi-sensory experience. 2015 is looking to be a good year with all these reveals and occasions and these destinations are just some of it!
